Description
Loading Buffer IV is a 10x dying solution for gel electrophoresis with 0.1 % Bromphenol blue sodium salt, 0.1 % Xylene cyanol FF, 100 mM EDTA, 1 % SDS and 60 % Glycerin, used for DNA samples dissolved in water or TE-buffer.
Loading buffer IV increases the density of the sample and adds dye for simplifying the loading process for acrylamide and agarose gels. In 1 % agarose gels, bromphenol blue migrates with 300 bp linear double-stranded DNA fragment, while xylene cyanol FF migrates at approximately the same rate as linear doublestranded DNA fragments of 4 kb length.
