Tween 80 (Polysorbate 80) is a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier often used in foods and cosmetics.
Tween 80 facilitates nutrient uptake by microorganisms and supplies essential fatty acids. It also neutralizes phenols, hexachlorophene, formalin and, combined with lecithin, ethanol.
