Danmarks Indsamling is the united Danish appeal for funds.
Once a year, 12 humanitarian organizations and Danmarks Radio (DR) come together to help people in some of the world’s poorest countries reach some of the UN’s global goals.
Since 2014, Danmarks Indsamling has targeted all the countries that appear on the OECD list of the world’s poorest countries. This means that the participating organizations have the opportunity to launch development projects in e.g. Latin America and Southeast Asia. Along with Africa, these countries house some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
Danmarks Indsamling make an enormous effort in the world’s poorest areas, where the need is the greatest. Each year, the organizations organize 12 projects within a given field, which Denmark and Danmarks Indsamling unite to focus on.

Since the first national appeal, Danmarks Indsamling, was held in February 2007, the Danes have raised over 1,4 billion DKK, which has helped more than seven million people to a better life and a brighter future. In 2022, the Danes raised DKK 100 million.

HELP CHILDREN IN NEED
Innocents killed in bombings. Drought and floods. Thousands on the run. Every day the news is filled with stories of wars, conflicts and disasters. But at the same time there is a need that we rarely see or hear about. A distress which is silent and protracted and which requires millions of victims – many of them innocent children.
These are children who grow up in extreme poverty. Children who have lost their parents and are left to fend for themselves. Children who never go to school. Children who are exposed to violence and sexual abuse in refugee camps. Children who succumb to disease and hunger. In the stream of news, their stories occupy nothing, but their distress is real, constant and brutal. Therefore, this year’s Danish Collection is about them.
Our focus is on children in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Yemen. Here we start with targeted humanitarian efforts. We provide medical care and medicine, ensure access to food and clean drinking water, provide care and protection, create educational opportunities, and help families cultivate the land in new, sustainable ways.
The children need our help. And we need yours. With your contribution, we can ensure that the children are not forgotten. We can create hope and change. We can make a world of difference.
